More Images of Spring on the Yard

The Dark Ages are finally over and "spring has sprung with flowers fair, zephyrs rare and a joy that knows no care." The days are getting longer and warmer and flowers and trees are blooming all over the Yard. Not only is there beauty to be seen in the blossoming plants and trees, but in the faces of the mids, especially the plebes. The light at the end of the plebe tunnel is getting so bright they will soon need sunglasses to keep the glare

from blinding them from their final exam studies. Joy can be seen on the faces of everyone as they walk to class on this Friday afternoon along Stribling Walk. They have shed their winter jackets, the sun is shining brightly and only a few weeks of classes remain for the 2001-2002 academic year. The Firsties are counting the days until commissioning week, the Second Class mids are eagerly awaiting the Ring Dance, the Youngsters their first "real Navy" summer cruise and the Plebes, well they can't wait to be Plebes-No-More and tackle the Herndon Monument in 5 short weeks.
