For a day or afternoon outside, try Sandy Point State Park, located in Anne Arundel County, at the western end of the Bay Bridge, off U.S. Routes 50/301 at exit 32. It's a wonderful park with great beaches, play area, concession and facilities and more. It's not far from USNA. There are other lovely parks in Maryland as well.

From Washington, DC

Take Rowe Blvd.south and turn left at the second light (TaylorSt.) which is just past the stadium, then turn right on Annapolis St when that road dead ends, go around the bend, to the light and turn right again on King Georg's St. Follow directly into gate 1 ... this bypasses all the construction completely.

From Baltimore

Blue Van - You arrange for shuttle service to BWI by calling 1-800-blue van. They pick up at more than one stop between the Academy and BWI so be sure and allow plenty of time. The cost is $19.00 one way. They seem to run "as needed."

Super Shuttle is more personal, and not too expensive if a group gets together on the reservation.

Ali Ahmed Independent Cab Service (410-212-9134). He has a new van, can carry seven per trip and charges $40 for the trip, reservations highly encouraged.

Call 410-263-7964. You can ride from Annapolis to BWI via the Sky Blue Route, an express shuttle operated by Annapolis Transit that will take you from Annapolis to BWI and Arundel Mills for a one-way fare of $3
